1	John Bell Moring 1844 - 1937
2	"John Was Born in Giles" John Was Born in Giles, Tennessee in October 18, 1844. He moved to Texas in 1869 , settling in Lamar county. In 1874 he moved to the Hannibal community.
3	9th Tennessee Cavalry The 9^th Tennessee Cavalry was organized on September 1, 1862 By Colonel James D. Bennett and Lt. William W. Ward.
4	"September 8^th the Cavalry had..." September 8^th the Cavalry had 200 men strong. The report stated by August 31^st was a fragment of the division escaped, captured or walked all the way to Georgia and was resigned.
5	"During December 1862 the regiment..." During December 1862 the regiment contained about 400 effectives and on May 3,1865 there were 22 officers and 281 men present.
6	Chickamauga 9/18/63 their cavalry fought in the Battle of Chickamauga. With a victory of the confederates.
7	"John fought in the Battle..." John fought in the Battle of Chickamauga in September 18, 63. The battle was one of the top 10 list for worst battle ever.
8	All the other battles John also fought in Parker’s Cross Roads, Thompson’s Station, and Brentwood.
9	Captured On December 1, 1963 John was capture and taken to Bainbridge Ferry in Alabama. John was release when the war was over.
10	"Mr." Mr. Moring married to Miss Katherine Jenkins December 14, 1870. For 60 years they lived a faithful and devoted life.
11	Death At the age of 93 John died in his son’s house, Silas Moring. John had 43 grandchildren when he died.
